Farm Life in Country Barn Quilt
2007 Poultry Party is another farm quilt of roosters and chickens having a party. This was all hand appliqued. Many of the birds had over 150 different pieces to create the finished bird, viewable in the closeup detail (below) of the booted chicken. The painted stenciled sun was used in this quilt, an adaption from a “Maggie Walker” pattern. Frances and Roberta DeLeo (quilting buddy extraordinaire) both made one of these quilts during the same time period, with a few additions of their own, which made them slightly different.
