Holiday Applique Quilts
1983 One of many applique quilts Frances made. Using applique in the flying geese style, Wild Goose Chase has hand-pieced and hand-appliqued a reproduction of an antique quilt, owned by Jonathan Holstein and is pictured in Holstein’s book, The Pieced Quilt. Frances saw it at New York City’s Whitney Museum of American Art in 1971.
Frances showed this reversible reproduction quilt at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts in1988 in a juried show entitled Holiday Quilts.
