Quilt Applique with Motifs

1983  Appliqued and hand-quilted, Cranberry Arabesque is a masterful collection of quilt applique and reverse applique techniques with a dogtooth design border. This beauty is all appliqued by hand using regular and reverse applique, done very carefully and with much precision. The outer border of triangles was pieced with her 1948 Singer Featherweight. Four perimeter squares have the lighter background color, which sets the quilt off beautifully. One of these lighter squares features wonderful silhouettes of cats & roosters.

Cranberry Arabesque won the Outstanding Hand Quilting Award at the 2000 Vermont Quilt Festival.
